Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Greenpower designs manufactures and distributes a variety of medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles. This includes transit buses, school buses, as cargo buses and shuttles.

EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle that offers a lot of customisation. It's also fully FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It offers a range that is world-class and ADA wheelchair provisions. It also provides cargo delivery setups.

GreenPower Motor Company produces a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship model, and can be adapted to meet a variety of applications. The platform's design is based on a simple paper sheet, which allows for optimum placement of the battery and a lower center of gravity. This results in better range/payload ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries and catering applications. The class 4 refrigerated trucks have a single interior wall structure, and higher insulation than conventional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer life span. The EV Star REEFERX has a higher capacity for cargo and an industry-leading payload to range for zero-emission transport of passengers or goods.

GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems. This will enable fleets to easily transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able of wireless charging up to 75 kW.

We had the opportunity to test drive the EV9 for several hours on a local freeway and found it easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The EV9 can block road noise and wind while on the highway. It is smooth on ruts and humps. The acceleration is extremely quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by simply lifting the accelerator.

The EV9 offers a great range and can be charged in three hours or less at home, or using any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two modes of operation that include eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode prioritizes torque and cruise control, as well as handling, while sport mode increases speed. Both modes are fun to drive and provide a unique experience for those who have never experienced driving an electric vehicle before.

In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, such as a multi-purpose, all-electric mini bus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, micro-transit, transit vanpool, bus or a paratransit vehicle.

GreenPower is already producing around 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of old diesel vehicles with 100 fully electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify schools across the nation, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand.  green power mobility reviews  are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants. We will be following the AV Star as it begins its demonstration tour later this year. We'll be sure to give more details about this innovative EV!
